Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 8 (Capsule Review)

Read about these posts here.

A solid episode of character building: all the action is at the start, in the flashback that explained what happened at the end of Ep. 7.

Spoilers below.

Again… nothing groundbreaking, but I liked Orga opening up a bit, in his adolescent, earnest way… after all, it’s not that common to see stories of honest affection among kids, especially males, without any skeezy or ironic undertones.

The Turbines “family”… eh, I don’t know, on the one hand it’s a classic and a bit embarrassing trope, the “harem”, but on the other, they are presented as a kind of functional family. I only wonder what happens to the male kids. Maybe they are just sent to work for other branches of Teiwaz.

From the looks of it, the whole show could cover just the trip to Earth with Kudelia, but it also sounds like this is a case of “the voyage is more important than the destination”.
